From Clay to Cobalt: The Colours That Inspired Rally Rally

Colour was there right at the beginning of Rally Rally.

Before we’d settled on every shape and every detail, I knew I wanted the collection to take inspiration from the colours I associate with racket sports.

And there are some really good ones.

The green

Probably the most obvious place to start.

That deep, unmistakable court green is so closely associated with tennis that it immediately feels sporty without needing a logo or a racket printed anywhere near it.

Our Rally Green is deep and rich rather than bright, and it has become one of the colours that ties the whole collection together.

The cream

Green and cream just work.

There’s something about warm cream that gives a nod to traditional tennis whites without being quite so stark.

It also works brilliantly with the stronger colours in the collection, which made it an obvious part of the Rally Rally palette.

The terracotta

This one comes straight from the clay court.

That warm, rusty orange is one of the most recognisable colours in tennis, and it’s also just a really good colour to wear.

We use it as a contrast to the greens, creams and blues rather than trying to recreate a clay court literally.

The cobalt

Padel gets some credit here.

Those brilliant blue courts were part of the inspiration for bringing a strong cobalt into the collection.

It’s bold without being fluorescent and looks particularly good against our green.

The dusty pink and warm yellow

Not every colour has to come literally from the surface of a court.

Some are more about the feeling around it.

The dusty pink and warm buttery yellow remind me of playing outside later in the day, when the light gets softer and everything becomes warmer.

They’re not neon sports colours. They’re softer and easier to wear, and they sit really nicely alongside the stronger court-inspired shades.

Putting them together

This is probably my favourite part.

Rally Rally isn’t really about one signature colour. It’s about the combinations.

Green with pink. Terracotta with cream. Cobalt with green. Warm yellow against orange.

Some are more traditional. Some shouldn’t necessarily work but somehow do.

That’s where the stripes, contrasting waistbands and colour blocking come in.

I want the colours to feel familiar enough that there’s something unmistakably sporty about them, but put together in a way that feels like Rally Rally.

And, most importantly, I want them to look really good when you wear them.
